A bit of advice on brewing tea or coffee in your Bauer Pottery...

Before using your Bauer or Russel Wright Teapot, we suggest that you add about half a pot full of hot tap water or some water from your kettle that's been on the heat a few minutes but is not yet boiling. When your kettle has boiled, drain the warm water from your pot and then pour in the boiling water as normal.

This method will accomplish two things. First, it will pre-warm your pot so that the cold ceramic does not drain away heat from your tea. Second and most importantly, it will save your teapot from thermal shock. Thermal shock is a sudden drastic change in temperature, which can cause crazing or more extreme damage to the glaze and clay body.
